As philosophy and leadership change in the present, I thought I would look to the past, Part I of a new, small, series of originals based on thinkers and rulers of times past. The words “If I Ruled the World” are burned into the background of this former co-ruler.

Based on a portrait bust/statue of Lucius Verus co-emperor of the Roman Empire with Marcus Aurelius (r. A.D. 161–180) , located at the MET. He makes an appearance in the movie Gladiator, as well as in actual history and has interesting, complicated, story.
